Before reading the books I hadn't really read anything for my own enjoyment ever and I used to say "well how can the books, which are only words be better than the show" and oh man, I was so stupid. the books are amazing, leagues better than the show in my opinion, and I believe that every Game of Thrones fan should read If you don’t already own the standard blu rays, it’s absolutely worth getting the 4k set instead. 100%, especially if it’s only a $30 difference (~40c to upgrade per episode).
