[Help] Hey everyone! I just finished modding my Gameboy Advance to have an SP's backlit screen. It was originally washed out beyond belief so I had to solder a wire from P1 to the other place on the board where it's recommended, and I soldered a wire between REVC Tried to Google it and could only find replacement LCDs that supposedly work for both my old GBA SP (AGS-001) and the brighter GBA SP (AGS-101). I'm rather skeptical about the compatibility since I've read that the screens from AGS-001 and AGS-101 are not interchangeable, and that some LCDs DO NOT include the front lit display. My GBA SP AGS-101 is clearly very troubled. It frequently shuts off or freezes up for seemingly no reason, and as of recently the buttons (D-pad and A/B specifically) are only registering sporadically or with great force. Is this something I can fix with simple cleaning or do I have motherboard Without question the IPS screen is a huge upgrade compared to the AGS-101. Before I had the IPS and the 101 I played a lot of GBA games on the DS Lite and I was actually quite surprised to find that it seemed to be the worst out of the three. I prefer 101 just as much as ips. You'll know when you try other games then pokemon. Probably best to dab a clean cloth on it. If it’s just a bit of fluid pressed against the screen that’ll fix it no problem. 5 yr. ago. Might be kind of hard to tell in the picture, but it’s actually behind the glass and doesnt seem to be going anywhere.
